What type of Video games do you enjoy? I really like Basket-ball games NBA Live, GTA San Andreas, WWE Smack Down vs Raw 2006, theirs a lot of games but I really like FIFA Street 1 and 2 (Fifa Street 1 is better).
What do you guys enjoy and what game systems do you have, I have an PS2, Ipod (plays some games and movies) PSP and XBOX. And what do you think is the funiest.

I seem to enjoy the shooting games. My favorite is the unreal tournament serise. I liek online because it never gets boring and anything can happen even if your a great player. There are alot of other games i like. I enjoy sport games and racing games. Nascar seems to be fun andrequires alot of patience. But i never seem to jave time for them anymore.

Counter-Strike 1.6 and some Source is all i play.

Hitman series, NBA Live, sports games, cars, fighting games, FPS, Multi players, Online.

My favorite Game is any NBA Live game. I basically play any sports games including Basketball, Baseball, Football and FIFA games are pretty cool also. And I like playin Grand Theft Auto thats the only non-sport games I play and James Bond.

I am going to get xbox 360 somewhat soon, with game like gears of war and forza motorsport 2, but the time when i will get it (hopefully a price drop at christmas time, which i expect they will) is when mass effect comes out. That game just looks stupid good, if you havent heard of it check it out, graphics are nuts, this is my most wanted game for sure (did i mention it is from bioware, if you know what that means you may understand why i am excited for it)

I usually love sports games over action games. But I like the whole EA Series (except for baseball, I go with ESPN on that one).

For action, war and strategy: Battlefield 2, Counter-Strike, Hitman Blood Money. I enjoy Bond games aswell.

For racing: NFSU (all versions), Midnight Club 3, Forza Motorsport and Project Gotham Racing.

I would agree, if it didn't come with a Blu-Ray DVD player.

A $600 Blu-Ray DVD player is a steal.

I don't play as many video games as I used to, but I'm still big on Mario games. I like NBA live too. I have a Gamecube and a Nintendo DS and I might get a Wii when it comes out.

Personally I am happy with DVD,
I have no need to pay a fortune for a movie on BD or HD-DVD
just so I can see the lead actors nose hairs
Another thing is that old movies (pre BD)
aren't encoded at a high enough resolution
and certain studios are only supporting one of the formats

Blu-Ray is WAY overrated

Well, if I could afford to buy a 1080p TV, then the cost of a PS3 is peanuts
but I'm a student right now and not a member of that 2% minority
(the 1080p HD crew)

well my only system is Super Nintendo.. i dont really have any interest for video games other then NBA, Madden, Fifa, MVP Baseball, I Can't play any other games but sport games, so i just buy them for computer and play

Not to mention the way they are explaining the joysticks it just sounds like a new revolutionary way to play video games. This hasn't happened since the first 8 bit nintendo (yes the control pad on nintendo was very foreign to when it first came out )

Nothing will compare to the control for the Wii

My personal favorite game right now is NBA 2k6. It's more realistic than live and IMO has a better franchise mode. NBA 2k7 looks really good in some of the review clips ive seen.

You may very well be right. Blu-Ray is in it's early stages, and it very well may flounder.

But then again, it might not (they said the same things about CD's and DVD's ).

That is why I think it's absolutely perfect to be able to have a Blu-Ray player attached my shiny new PS3. If the whole Blu-Ray thing flounders, I still have my PS3.

It's very low-risk compared to going out and buying an actual $1000 Blu-Ray DVD player. That kinda' sets it apart from your Betamax example; they never had Betamax players attached to Colecovision consoles.

I'm looking forward to it so much....graphics aren't a problem for me as long as they're decent, and the I prefer gameplay anyway. And with a launch price like that...why wouldn't I get one.

The problem with that rationale, is that many developers are backing down
fron supporting PS3 at launch because of insanely high development costs
They want to wait and see how it does before supporting it
As a matter of fact, SNK (a developer) said yeaterday that they would most likely
NOT make any games for PS3 until 2009-2010
3rd party support backing away is not a good sign for a game console.

1080p TVs are very rare. And they are the only ones (as far as I know)

The majority of people who own HDTVs have 720p or 1080i capable sets.
The North American market is currently at 12% HDTV (720i, 720p, 1080i and 1080p)
But other markets such as Europe and Asia are much lower

Its not safe to say that really. Really not save. I mean if you look at the franchise in the Playstation you got Metal Gear Solid 4, Devil May Cry 4, then Final Fantasy 13, Gran Turismo 4. If you dont like none of these games it dont matter cuz the fact is that these 4 series are HUGE for the gamerz.

Dont worry. I like all consoles, its just not safe to say which consoles are better cuz you can start a war and it wil be pointless. For Wii theres this cool drum game that I really like to try. I really hope it responds real quick cuz I play fast. And I hope for a double bass kick on that game too.. Wii is cool to try. I would like to try personally. I like Xbox 360 also. They got their own independent game also.

But the impression from Nintendo I see. The only bad thing is that their games are pretty childish. And their main themes really are for kids. The "majority", it is. But that doesnt effect me a lot. I just hope to see them open their closet a lil.

As for PS3. $600 is a lot. But it doesnt hurt to wait to go down. The first Playstation was like $300. People bought it anyways and it killed the other consoles at that time.

What the matter you can't route for the underdog once in a while. You have to give nintendo a hand for the fact they are at least being innovative. XBOX and PS weren't always on top. There was a time when other consoles like Sega Genesis and NES totally ruled the gaming market and they fell hard at one time.

Wii Has a chance to be a revolutionary system or just be talked about as a system that maybe was just ahead of its time.

Actually I'm pretty sure NBA Live 07 isn't comming out for the nintendo systems. THat's why i'm gonna have to get it for PC.

That's a very good point. 3rd party support backing away is definitely not a good sign. But we are talking about a Playstation here. If the PS3 takes off like expected, people at SNK are going to fired big time for keeping the company out of the market for 3 years and missing out on $millions.

Honestly, I am surprised of the skepticism and knee-jerking towards the giant stalwart that is the Playstation line. But hey, we'll have to wait and see. Either some people are going to look like geniuses for doubting early, or those some people are going to lose their jobs.


I am aware 1080p TV's are rare at this point. Most 'true' 1080p sets are only coming out this fall. As with everything, new technology takes time to saturate into the market, but it is still inevitable.

I recently went to take a look at the new 1080p's, and the model I wanted wasn't in yet. The salesguy put me on a list with 12 other people he has to call when they come in.

Yeah, you're right. Me, I just want to have my TV for a while and not get left behind. I don't want to be like one of those people who sunk their money into a big screen TV and refused to go HD when it was first coming out.

Sony was actually supposed to be designing the disk part of the gamecube, but they were trying to hold onto to some part (cant remember this part exactly) so nintendo went in discussion with phillips behind sonys back, then decided to go with philips. Sony then decided now was a good time to enter the entire market with a whole new console (they were peved for getting dumped, cuz they started making the parts already)

Sonys been having a lot of problems though, with the racist psp comerical and they had to borrow a 700million dollar loan, for the ps3, I don't think they'll make a lot of profit if people don't buy it, and XBOX 2 is really smart (microsoft) their realesing HALO 3 the same day PS3 comes out so more people would choose Xbox and get halo with it instead of PS3.

i think its gears of war that is coming out, not halo 3, halo 3 is scheduled for 2007, gears is for christmas. I also expect xbox 360 price to drop when it comes out too, so it looks even better in comparison

sort supplies, high demand, they arent going to be able to produce enough.

I think the other consoles should hav their own time of winning. Playstation was winning too much in the past. I would like to see others step up.
