I remember PS3 is blue ray, blue ray dvd players are like 1100$, if the ps3 is less its worth it because it play games, music and movies tongue.gif. And I think its easier to play burned games, will you need a mod chip for the ps3 to play burned games?
cHop-sTicKs
I think... but I heard games were region free. Now if they only make that free regions for the movies..

Video game makers need to get in touch with the "casual gamers" again. I remember back in the days of Genesis and SNES, my mom and sister used to play video games along with me because games were so easy to get into. These days, things are so complicated that even I find myself turned off by certain games. Back then all you had to do was to turn on the machine, chose one of 3-4 options on the screen and let the simple side-scrolling fun begin. Now even menu screens seem ultra complex, requring you to enter your profile and what not. That is exactly why I'm excited about the Wii. They are trying to reach out for that market once more and once they find that market, they will definitely sell more units than 360.

i dont have it, cuz i dont have ps2, but from what i hear it isnt that good, at least compared to xbox live
also this depends on how soon your getting ps3
if your getting it right away then might as well save your money
if your getting it in 2 years, then its up in the air (though i would still say wait, save ur money for the ps3 that is still going to b expensive)

Very nice post,
and this is the exact reason I want to get a Wii

Nintendo are returning to the roots of gaming
but with an all new style..a new flavour

I can't wait to download hundreds of classic games on my

VIRTUAL CONSOLE BABY!!!
mel0
Ya, but portable gaming has changed so much from the Gameboy Pocket to the Nintendo DS, it seems that they want the games to be smaller now so their more portable, but the bigger the game is the better, or the biger the screen, I would really like to see a touch screen PSP.

What does that have to do with this thread?

And chop, a lot of sites that i usually stumble across have faulty links and what not. I remember some one gave me a link to this web-site which worked great and had millions of roms but wasn't even listed on google for legal reason I suppose.

Did any of you guys ever play a classic stand-up arcade game called "Crack Down"? It was a top view shooter where you had to infiltrate the bad guys hide-out and plant bombs along the bway to blow it to hell. Great game. But even with all the emulators and remakes and all that jazz I can't find any kind of copy of this game anywhere. I'm very disappointed. There are some sneaky computer types on this board though, so perhaps someone has seen or heard of a place where this fine specimen of computer gaming might be available. Anyone? Please? laugh.gif

Apparently it's coming out for X360 but that doesn't help me much, 'cause I dont own one. Or, actually, any console of any kind - not since NES if you can believe that happy-crappy.

Yup, that's my baby. I'm just not willing to pick up a Genesis and risk S&H just to play it - an emulator would perfectly suit the 0$ I'm willing to pay to walk down memory lane. Really good response time though, I'm impressed. 3 min is better than the fire department. I love this site. biggrin.gif

I'm not exactly a video game junkie but i do like to get my game on every once in a while.

I have a system from Nintendo Microsoft and Sony with the N64, Xbox and PS2.

My favorite games (that I own) for Xbox are Ninga Gaiden All NBA lives and Halo 2

My favorite games (that I own) for PS2 are final fantasy X and DANCE DANCE REVOLUTION tongue.gif

And the ones i play the most and never get bored of are all for my N64. I play SUPER SMASH BROS almost everytime me and my friends hang out..Its an amazing multiplayer game. And when i'm not playing that I'm playing Mario Party 3. Plus the classics like super mario 64 and orcarina of time... YOU JUST CAN'T BEAT IT!

Thats why I think i'm going with the WII!!

BTW, the first video game i ever played was Yoshi World for Super Nintendo. It was my friends and i only got to polay it for about 2 hours or so but i absoulutley loved it... Has anyone ever played it before?

The top two there make alot of sence knowing that zelda was ranked perfect ten by alot of national gmaing sites. And if you have ever played mario 64 you jsut know. But i don't know why wave race is posted that high. Plus i'd figure super smash bros would be higher but i havnt played these games in years i should probaly pull out my dusty n64 and play em.

I still have my N64 and still play it sometimes. Got both Mario 64 and Zelda Ocarina of time. Zelda is still the best game i have ever played. I was on it for weeks nonstop trying to finish it.

ya, ive never played perfect dark either, but dont know how that beat golden eye
i thought that was regarded as like the best shooter ever on a console...so how it loses to a shooter is beyond me

Golden Eye was amazing but Perfect Dark is even better. Mario Cart and Super Smash should have been ranked higher, top 10 at the very least imo.

ahh. Super Smash Brothers one of my fdavourites. When it first came out it was flamed by many people because of its simple fighting techniques, but look where it got them today. a very good game and you cand spend hours just having fun pressing a button and seeing people fly.

the best arcade game i beilive is Time Crisis especially three. With the step paddle to un duck it really changed my gaming eperence rather than shooting off screen to reload. Also has anyone played the video game where you are the boxer and you have to use those boxing things? really fun!

Zelda used to be the best it was the only game me and my dad played, I had all the Zelda games on Nintendo and Gamboy, it was the best, Link was so cool, and I still cant beat Majorias Mask.

It was made by the same development team at Rare

Majora's Mask is an amazing follow up to Ocarina,
Hard as heck to finish though...
I remember it took me so long the first time that I only ever did it ONCE again
(and I have played my other Legend of Zelda games many...many...times)

I personally wouldn't really call Zelda anime.
Depends on how technical your definition of anime is...

While Goldeneye was awesome,
Perfect Dark blows it out of the water IMO

You're right though, Laptop Guns, and Fly-By-Wire Slayers

Maybe you should just say you dont like RPG games. Only if you talking about the old Zelda cuz it was a RPG back then. And Final Fantasy was always RPG. Truth is, it was a very huge success for Super Nintendo. However, the company SQAURE got ticked off at Nintendo and went on with Playstaion. There were a few good companies that took off and worked for Playstation afterwards instead of Nintendo. I still dont know why.

Fact is there are a lot of RPG fans out there still. I personally like RPG. But too much gets too repetitive.... CUZ it takes DAM LONG to finish a RPG game. Its almost like reading a book or somthin.

Some of my favourite games of all time

Activision's Ice Hockey was a great game. Nothing like playing Hockey with 4 stick men and a square rink. Activision just made the best games for Atari by far

I know all you gamers are truly drooling over this one. To this day no one has yet topped the great Pele Soccer.

and who could forget Pitfall. Nothing short of a classic.

Yes I've been playing Prince of Persia for like ever. The best one was this beauty that played on the Tandy 1000. Oh ya the new was aren't too bad either. I finished SAnds of Time but WArrior within is really dam hard. Now I hear they have another one called REvelations which I couldn't imagine how difficult that RPG game is

bah I'll show you classic adventures of Mario and Luigi.

Nothing like Mario's first ever game with him as the main character

Yes Mario did play a supporting role in Donkey Kong. Something that I bet disgruntled the Italian plummer

And of course the NES classic. Hey anyone have that annoying Robot or Powerpad? Well I did

if you played Pele Soccer You would know exactly what I'm talking about.

In Pele soccer it was 3 vs 3. I don't recall a goalie either but th funny think was the 3 spots never broke apart. It was actually low grade even for the atari 2600

Atari was just hilarious. At one point it got so popularized and cheap you could like pick up CARTS for like 50cents at the flea market. I remember at one point I had so many Coleco/Atari games I couldn't even fit them in my room it was just nuts. Some games like pitfall was expensive but heck pele soccer I recall having 5 of them biggrin.gif

Yes I actually played the ET game and it was friggin impossible. I remember how annoying that game was I don't think I know of anyone who finished it. There was some insane Atari games after the console got a lilttle older. I remember playing this game a buddy brought over that was like relative to Dungeons and Dragons and you needed a book to actually play it.

Pitfall for Coleco was also a wicked butt game. Like most new gamers need graphics to appreciate good gameplay but if you don't there are some old ATari/coleco games worth digging up

I disagree. A classic in video game land is truly a classic when there are tons of sequels involved. Besides I'm sure Activision is just like dying to figure out how they are going to compete with the new software gaming companies of today

yes POP is a great RPG classic. Its amazing how they use pratically similar ways the to play the game to this day. Not many games can make it through the gaming world that long and POP is one of them
