To say I remembered how the old POPs finished I would be totally lying to you. Funny thing is if you buy Sands of Time for Xbox/PS2 they actually have a code that allowed you to play an old version of POP. I also Finsihed Sands of Time but again I don't exactly remember how it finished either

u dont need a code, u just have to beat sands of time and itll be an option.
and i remember how it ended (POP: SOT), though i wont say it if people havent played it.
The other prince of persia games after sands of time i did not like as much as the first. I played a little bit of both but i didnt like them so i never went far on them. The first one was so polished, and the other 2 were not it seemed like they went backwards.

the "magic doors" annoyed me most with sands of time. Anyways ya ur right about the SOT opened the old POP.
As for the Warrior Within I somewhat agree with you. Its exactly like SOT only with a few more bells and whistles. I myself got fed up with it as well and didn't bother finishing it. Although its not too bad its just way to similar to SOT.

ya, the worst part about it was the fact that it would show u where to go (which i liked in the first one), except that it would have u battle some people halfway through the traveling, and u could not remember where you were suposed to go anymore
Scully you asked me about ET for atari and i just had to look it up on the net. I totally remember how impossible the game was and I didn't know atari spent like over 21 million bucks on it just to licence and only sold 1 millioin copies.
To top it off they either threw away 5 million copies or sold them to flea markets LOL.
"The sad thing is… the story was probably the best part of the game (well, besides the title screen). The "game" itself is too horrible to describe. In fact, E.T.'s gameplay is so convoluted and inane that the manual has to describe the entire game for you… because there's no way in hell you'll understand it by yourself (this game is IMPOSSIBLE without the manual… well, it almost is WITH the manual too)."
This was true but then again I was such a little rug rat I remember trying to finish this game again and again

Atari's history was sad actually. The games they made including ET was horrible and yes they spent millions of dollars wasting it.
Well they are back now anyways

The good always starts bad.
Might I add that the company SQAURE started really pathetic too. Before the first Final Fantasy, they made lots of games but were pretty crap also, they went downhill.. a LOT. So the company thought "Why not let us use the rest of the money we hav left, and create our
"Final Fantasy". So they did, and released it for the first Nintendo console. And BOOM. Success was in the air. $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

well atari was on top of the world for a quite a long time. ET was just one of those games that drowned them. Also, the programming team that made ET made a couple of other games that were best sellers.
I wouldn't say that atari's history is sad at all. I'd say its more of a great thing for gamers. Atari was after all the company that popularized the console gaming market.

Man, I absolutely loved that original Prince of Persia. It was the first computer game I played back in 1996, when I was just 6 years old. I still remember the game like it was just yesterday. I remember I used to hate falling on to those spikes, which I did quite often. But when I finally beet the boss in the sword fight, I was so ecstatic that I felt as if I acheived something. Oh, the good ol' times.
BTW, does anyone remember playing Wolfenstein 3D? That game was amazing too. It was probably the second computer game I ever played.

Yes I agree. Xbox 360 would've sold much mor eunits if it had backwards compatibility and if its prices were more reasonable. I thin the same will go for the PS3. I mean its more than 700$ with a game. I bet you only little kids with rich mommies can get that type of system. No college/ high school students can afford that. Thats why the Wii has such a big chance of being this years number one seller. I bet my cousin that the Wii will sell more units than the PS3 for 5 bucks. Good call on that one man, F.E.A.R is an intense game, makes you jump like mad sometimes, especially when you play it in the dark with 5.1 sorround sound headphones. Still have not beaten that game though, i think i'm gonna go back and play it some more.

Does anyone remember this system???

Atari 800xl
My favorite system to this day. Still have it. Should shake the dust off of it and see if it works.
It played all the Atari 2600 games but allowed you to program as well. After writing a mere 90-200 lines copied out of the manual you could do such devistating effects as:
-A cheesy single line lightning bolt
-A ball bouncing around the screen
-the screen randomly changing between 6 (I believe) colors.
It was a pretty sweet Idea though... It gave you access to the same program that developers were using to write thier own games. I remember hearing tones of stories about people making games from home and trying to sell them to Atari.
To Tech: Read a bunch of posts in this thread. You have some decent points about Wii but you can't deny that Nintendo has always had a much softer and censored approach to gaming that is catered to a younger crowd. One only has to remeber how jipped off nintendo users felt when they took out the blood when a player got injured in NHL 95 (Could of been 96). I had both systems but I couldn't help but laugh at how mad my SNES friends were the first time they saw Gretzky bleeding from the head and they couldn't do it at thier house.
