the problem with pc's is if you want to play the newest games... you'll have to keep upgrading your system... where as if you buy a console you'll be able to play all of the newest games for 4-6 years.

No response to GTA4 being on both systems? First this, now Guitar Hero 2, Xbox is taking all of PS2's good exclusive games and making them available for them as well.

If you are just going to upgrade ur pc just for the games. Its worthless. Im using my comp for music programming which also requires a lot of upgrade if you want to go hardcore.
Your forgetting about downloading games also. People download games 24/7 and dealing here and there. And they are "free". Illegally lol But hey, its just the way it is.
It really all depends on what you are going to use it for really. In your case, it wont be worth it I guess.

lmao just played live 07 on both pc and ps2 and I can't say anything other than it's a steaming pile of garbage. To cop a quote from Colbert, the Live series is now officially dead to me. There is no longer any shadow of a doubt in my mind; 2K is officially the better series. I'm not even giving 08 a chance....thats how bad 07 is. Every glitch the game has ever had is back and worse that ever and the superstar feature just begs for you to abuse the game and put up 140 points a game even at the highest difficulty

Yo it sucks cuz they didnt give the PC version as a next gen. They also didnt do that for 360. Everything as they promised will all be on PS3/
Other than that, I played 06 for PC. I maxed the graphics out and it was FUGLY.
2005 beats 06 thats how bad it is. Graphically, gaming wise and realism (if you adjust the settings). 05 is gonna be the top for me. Graphically it beats 06 & 07. I play 10 min per quarter, Superstar level, everything is at the right place. The score seems normal, stats n everything.
07 Im going to have to wait for the PS3 version. If you saw the conference, demos it looks pretty neat still.

I'm not much of a gamer but recently I went to a buddy's house to play with the Wii. Their was about four of us and we played everything from boxing. tennis, bowling, golf, disney cars etc etc etc.
I find the Wii is more of a socialable console than the xbox or PS3. Personally I had tons of fun with it and we all left his place all potentially planning to buy one. For a non gamer like myself I find this console gives you an alternative look on how video games should be played. Not to mention a little bit of a workout at the same time.
I could see hardcore gamers having both an XBOX/PS3 and Wii cause it is just that much different.

Gilbert Arenas is gonna be featured on the next NBA Live, but unless there's big differences I don't know about picking it up...like Lankan said, 07 had quite a few glitches, still fun to play online though. IMO there hasn't been a REALLY good live game since Live 2004.

Yeah Ive played all of them and had most fun with the Wii for sure. This may sound silly to those who havnt played, but you can actually work up a good sweat it you play it standing up and actually put effort into it. Me and my friend were playing boxing for about a half hour and I was pretty beat haha.
I'd take the Wii over the other two anyday.

I totally agree. If I ever buy a console I would definately make it the Wii. Bored at home one night just call up a bunch of friends and have fun with the Wii.
Like I said before the Wii is more of a social thing rather than a gamer thing. Nintendo really got it right this time and just decided to be different than the norm. I guess thats what they are all about, besides they did practically invent the D pad controller.

i like to refer to it as the "180"...meaning that Nintendo has gone down a different path than the other two consoles and has been very successful because of it

i was a mega HUGE starcraft player back in the day, i had the 1st one and brood war. and i even bought the battlechest, lmfao, i was such a starcraft nerd as well. had my own "bot" and everything, was in a clan, damn, i musta lost all my skills now. before with the protoss race, i used to do dragoons and everything, with terrains i massed produced battlecruisers or went with goliaths/tanks, and with zergs jus went mass hydras and killed everything.
they added some cool guys to the protoss race though, the warp gate can finally be made! all the graphics look so realistic, like warcraft 3. i've been anticipating the new starcraft for years dude, since 2002/2003. i heard there was a starcraft game for the consule, you take the role of a sniper girl and yeah, but was dissapointed by this question.

Forza Motorsport 2 officially came out yesterday, and this is the game I definitely will be getting (some people know how too). This is the most realistic driving sim out (don't buy the GT for playstation hype), car manufacturers are actually using it's physics engine to test parts (mostly tires, which the physics for are apparently amazingly accurate).

Finally picked up Guitar Hero 2 for xbox 360, since it seems to be getting shipped to Canada again, and let me tell you this game is fun, and friggin frustrating. Pshycobilly freakout on Hard has me beat. I somehow lucked into getting to 81%, but that is the best after at least 40 tries (no exageration). My average through that time is probably 35% at best. I really don't know how I am supposed to actually beat this stupid song, but it is standing in the way of me unlocking all the songs (I started on Hard because I am a guitar hero). I am going to need a to take a break from playing because with how fast this songs are my wrists are crying for a break. This game is so fun if you have a ps2 or 360, you are giving yourself a MASSIVE disservice if you do not own this game.
BTW, so far The Trooper by Iron Maiden is my favorite song. Challenging to play and a great song to listen to.

I'm not a cheater, I personally can't stand cheating, for me its the easy way out, and I don't like using the easy way out. I played through it and beat the song, I now have 2 songs left on Hard, Carry me Home (this song needs to go die) and Freebird (because I can't unlock it yet with carry me home undone). I started some Expert and finished 6 so far, then I'll go back to carry me home. The trouble with this song is that it uses a lot of the "Hammering" technique that I didn't know about throughout hours upon hours of play already, and now need to relearn how to play a little bit because I need to get used to this technique, because this songs you need to do this technique to pass it.
Also, once again I get more information about the next Star Wars game that will be stellar.

The Star Wars saga continues this November in Star Wars: The Force Unleashed, a videogame developed by LucasArts, which casts players as Darth Vader's "Secret Apprentice" and promises to unveil new revelations about the Star Wars galaxy.
The expansive story, created under direction from George Lucas, is set during the largely unexplored era between Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith and Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope. In it, players will assist the iconic villain in his quest to rid the universe of Jedi - and face decisions that could change the course of their destiny.
Today, we bring you the first of a series of documentaries. This first part explains how Star Wars: The Force Unleashed was born.
