All of the above is mostly true, but the sixaxis does NOT work like the Wii. Not even close.

I played that at my friends house and I honestly could not stand it, it was just a big clusterBEEP of crap happening on the screen. I actually didn't enjoy that type of game, I would prefer a more regular fighter to somerthing like that.

Seriously? I don't love it like some people do but it's a really fun game to play with a bunch of people. Good mix of characters, nice areas, simple fight structure but you can make it more complex if you know how to play.
Maybe if I played it more I would feel that way, my first impression was certainly poor of it though. Seemed way too much like a button masher to me.
Anyone get the GTA IV yet? I have to wait until Friday (payday) I'm really anxious to start the online play. When more people on here get it we'll have to get a game going with some RC members.
I got it, and am playing through single player, though I'm not very far at all. There's plenty to do and the size of the map is still so huge, I'm looking forward to getting on further in the game and progressing with the story.

I do not know if it is wide spread or even related to the Playstation Issues. I am currently re-installing GTA IV for the 5th time this time after a Quick System Restore in which it erased the Hard Drive and reset all the default system settings. As soon as I know more I will update.
UPDATE4: Well the quick system restore didn't do anything. I had all the extras disabled and didn't help one bit. All I can suggest currently is to call where you got your game first thing when they open and tell them to give you another copy to try. Good Luck to all!

He said that I could just bring in the game case (since I bought the collectors edition) and he will swap it out with the regular one since the game is the same, you just got the extras. Well my game thankfully isn't freezing. Just picked it up and my first impression is a little overwhelming. There is just so much detail, the graphics are amazing. The cars actually look real! I haven't started the online play yet, still getting used to the controls (they're a little different then the last game) I've been struggling a little with the camera angle when driving, but I'm sure I'll get used to it.
For the PS3 problem, just disable your internet.
It worked for me. Didnt reinstall or reformat or anything. I think its because the PS3's online version is down. So that might be the case for now.

the size of this game is astounding !!....i spent at least an hr driving around ( stealing different cars ) the city and was stunned at the detail..doesn't matter where you are the graphics are incredible...it really does have the feel of a real city....at one point i got out of the car and walked thru a park area which lead to a boardwalk area...just for the hell of it i jumped off the edge of the pier and swam out in the bay....swam up to a boat and hijacked it then drove around for another half an hr....you can virtually go anywhere
my favourite part of the game so far is the radio stations in the cars ( and of course the strip joints
)....it's such a treat to be able to listen to Iggy Pop talking on the "Liberty Rocks" station ( i think that's what the station is called )...or listen to some rare Jean Michelle Jarre and Phillip Glass on the "Journey" stationthe attention to detail on this game is truly impressive....haven't even looked at the online play yet....too busy doing errands for Vlad, Roman and Lil Jacob
Another ground breaking game (pun intended) coming from lucas arts using their exclusive new technology that is used in the new star wars game and also in this new game called fracture. Fracture is a game that allows you to actually shape the landscape with one player, you can cause earthquakes, you can move the land to make a pillar or a pit. I really can't do this justice, it looks crazy to play, and really you just have to watch a demo or something for this game. Check out their new official website and see what this game is about.

I rented it for the PS3 a few weeks ago and couldn`t help but rent it again this weekend....Spend pretty much all my time picking up hookers, paying them for "favors" then beating them to death in dark alleys....But I`m sure everyone does that....there are missions?
just kidding... but seriously I played the GTA vice city but haven`t even looked at any of the other ones, so I was blown away by 4. the interaction with the people, the size, the detail just unreal...really. Great story, I`m hooked I played the thing almost all day/ night yesterday and its been years since a game hooked me like that.
I stick to the eastern european station mostly(i love that as their theme), but it depends on the car I`m driveing/stealing...

Cool, but when you said terraforming and eathquakes I thought about an old game I loved called Sacrifice. You could cause eathquakes, volcanoes, storms, etc. I so wanted a sequel for Sacrifice. I guess I'm still waiting.
Just got a new little game called Audiosurf. Man is it unbelievably addicting. It's hard to describe because whatever description I give will make it seem to simplistic. Basically you upload your own music and it will create a track for you to play a bit like Guitar Hero, except for your keyboard or mouse. The enjoyment comes from the infinite amount of tracks available because it creates a completely unique one for each and every song to correspond to it. It comes cheap too. Only 10 bucks.

haven't been in here for awhile so i thought i'd post a review of a game i picked up a couple of weeks ago....Battlefield:Bad Company
i've been a Battlefield:Modern Combat fanatic for a number of years now (as most of you will already know ) so i was eagerly waiting for this new addition to come out...my girlfriend even more so as she's a complete freak for this game
i had read all the reviews and was excited to get my hands on this one...particularly the multi-player aspect of the game
we sat down together and played the single-player at first to get the hang of the weapons and gameplay....we quickly realized that the single-player was not much more than a fun excuse for a tutorial of the multi-gameplay....although it was fun to play i have to say there was nothing special or unique about it and in fact the graphics and sound were a little disappointing
but we were more concerned about the multi-player so we moved on...the online gameplay ( much to our disappointed ) was pretty much the same...although there was nothing really "wrong" with it, it just didn't live up to what we thought it was going to be....the maps were so-so and the game-play was balanced...to put it bluntly - it just didn't knock our socks off like we thought it would and we've already gone back to playing Modern Combat on LIVE
for someone who has never played Combat then i would recommend trying Bad Company..it's a decent enough game but it still can't compare to Modern Combat when it comes to multi-player
i'll give it a disappointing 7/10

2 things to note, Too Human comes out tomorrow, there is a demo online right now available, so I'm not going to talk, just go pick it up, it is a pretty fun game so far, and is going to be a lot of fun playing through multi-player through the campaign.
Also, Star Wars Forced unleashed has a demo coming out on Thursday, which also needs to be checked out.

the new star wars game interests me... just reading on some of the things you can do in that is pretty cool.
found assasin's creed in blockbuster for 10$ so decided, why the hell not? pretty cool game, though is repetitive, but the way you can assasin some of these guys are awesome..

Well not really....ok yeah really. I am now a Battlefield 2 addict. Ever since I took your advice and rented the game for the 360, I've bought it for 3 different systems. I don't play 24/7...but like 19/7. My favourie game of all-time actually. I love you.
I'm living on campus now so I don't get to play, and it's driving me nuts. Those cravings....when you feel like pumping 30 bullets right into your enemy's skull....then keep going even when he's dead. 30 bullets...40 bullets...50 bullets...100 bullets HAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAHAHHA.... so while I love you, I also hate you. Very very much.

i like to snipe ( and i'm damn good at it
)..nothing more satisfying then watching a player run across an open area thinking he's not detected by anyone....then just as he thinks he's going to make it to his destination i blow his brains out ...my girlfriend who plays twice as much as i do prefers to get her hands dirty..she's almost always on the frontline as an assaulter.....loves to blow things up with the tanks, helos etc....she is freakin vicious have you played the new game ?....i wrote a review awhile ago...must admit i was disappointed...we've gone back to playing Combat fulltime

The ony thing that bothers me about modern combat are those damn server droppers.
^yea and trust me when i say she reminds of that fact on a daily basis
the thing about Combat is that the gameplay is perfectly balanced and the maps fit perfectly within that balance...freakin awesome game !

MUCH better...but to be fair i should distinguish between campaign and multiplayer modes....
Battlefield 2: Modern Combat has very little to offer when it comes to campaign mode..but excels in multiplayer mode....the graphics will look a little outdated compared to the newer games that are out but the actual gameplay is (imho) freakin phenomenal
Battlefield: Bad Company has a good campaign..basically it's a tutorial for the multi-mode..it's fun to play and has a great sense of humour..the multi-player mode is adequate at best imho...graphics are still a little grainy and i was expecting a lot more from the maps
but hey ...judge for yourself

Chris Paul is a 99. Jose is 87 with a 99 passer rating, Roko and Solomon are 74. Also of note T.J is 84 and the fastest player in the game.
And Andre Miller is criminally underrated.

Game looks amazing. I will definetley be buying it on October 7. This will be my 6 straight year buying a 2k basketball game.

Couldn`t be HALF as bad as as NBA Live..its just horrible...I`m actually a bit of a basketball game nerd. i pick up a new one every year. i played 2k5 2k6 for XBox...then I thought i would give Live a shot in 07 BRUTAl...swore I would NEVER buy another one...as it turns out My wife got me a PS3 for my birthday with live 08 I`ll admit not AS bad...but i actually went back to playing 2k5...

I gotta admit that I was a Live fanboy up until 2K8 came out. I never really thought of 2K to be any good, even though I had never played it prior to 2K8. I don't know, it just seemed logical that EA games would put out the better game due to the name brand. But hey, that goes to show you, the name brand isn't everything right.
BTW, this might be a little off-topic, but once 2K9 is out and everyone here has got their own brand-spanking new copy, would any of you be interested in starting an online league with a season of about 10-12 games or so? All of this depending how many people join up of course.
For anyone who hasn't joined a league online, it's pretty fun. Anytime someone is online that's in your league, just play a game with them and it will give you a W/L on your record. It gets pretty intense. This isn't just with regular rosters either, there's a draft. It can be done live, but if you cannot make it, you can rank your players in which order you would like to draft them. I'm getting all of this from my experiences with 2K8 online, I doubt they changed much in that aspect.
Note: This league would be for Xbox 360 owners OR for someone who wants to borrow their friend's consol
If anyone here is interested, PM me, and I'll start a thread on it around the time the game comes out.
